EDGE Promotes the SPHINX System to Users in Healthcare Organisations
April 2021

The SPHINX European project envisions the development of a universal cybersecurity toolkit for healthcare organisations that considers the digital transformation process in Health and is dedicated to safeguard the privacy of patient data.
EDGE is responsible for the development of the S-API tool that allows the programmatic access of third-parties’ applications, systems and devices to the SPHINX System. The user manuals for each of the SPHINX tools are being developed in order to support the verification, validation and demonstration activities in operational settings, in close collaboration with SPHINX’s user partners: the Hospital of Espírito Santo of Évora, the Polaris Clinic in Romania and the Regional Health Authority for the Steria and Thessalonica region.
The S-API user manual includes the instructions for the tool’s installation and the creation of user accounts and, importantly, it details how the user of the SPHINX System may enjoy the remote access to a set of SPHINX cybersecurity services, including vulnerability detection, anomaly and intrusion identification, the analysis of traffic monitoring, the registry of cybersecurity events and incidents and the certification of connected systems and devices. With this access, in a highly convenient and easy way, the user may perform the remote monitoring of vulnerabilities in a given network, be informed in real-time of detected intrusion attempts to the system or even be alerted to the anomalous behaviour of a given device. Overall, through S-API, the user may have real-time information of the cybersecurity status of its infrastructure anywhere anytime, being able to react timely to cyber incidents and cyber-attacks, in order to mitigate potential damage.
At the moment, the technological partners of SPHINX are finalising their components’ functionalities and implementing the different integration tests with the target set on the pilot installations for Greece, Romania and Portugal in the upcoming months.
