SHAPES Personas

The SHAPES Project ambitions to develop an innovative model to support the older individuals’ autonomy, independency and quality of life, based on promising technological solutions and new sociotechnical approaches. For the SHAPES Platform to deliver an effective and efficient response to the real needs of individuals and organisations, EDGE and the other SHAPES partners have begun an open and interdisciplinary dialogue with the various stakeholders involved in the Project and created a set of personas that identify the Platform’s main users.
Ernst, Roberto, Ayesha, Isabella, Roisin, Jarda, Helena and Fredryk personify hence individuals dealing with the difficulties caused by the ageing process, both active and healthy older individuals and chronic patients, co-morbidity patients or patients with neurodegenerative diseases, and also older individuals affected by social isolation, by frailty and by disability. Details of real life mark the crafting of the eight SHAPES personas that represent the archetype users of the SHAPES Platform, defined by needs, experiences, behaviours and specific objectives that assist in the identification of user requirements and the expectations about the Platform’s performance in the extension and support of the autonomy, independency and quality of life of the older population.
In the following months, the personas will support the ideation effort of the SHAPES project and will guide EDGE’s team in the creation of the digital solution that, based on the eCare Platform, will contribute to support and extend the autonomy and independency of older individuals. In collaboration with the SHAPES partners, EDGE will adapt its digital solutions to integrate with the SHAPES Platform and to support the multiple demonstration activities that, throughout Europe, will validate the capabilities and benefits of the SHAPES solution.
