AIMES

As part of the AIMES project, EDGE and its two partners, Deveryware and Omnitor, produced a set of seventeen case studies that aim to present the innovations and the new functional capabilities of the AIMES System in specific emergency situations.
The developed use cases address the interaction of the citizens with the 112 emergency services, presenting tourism-related scenarios between European countries and emergencies involving citizens with hearing or mental disability, as well as the public alert service when emergencies require citizens to adopt specific conducts or to evacuate certain locations. In particular, EDGE explored the integration of automated emergency calls through IoT devices and eHealth applications. In this context, the identified use cases analysed the creation of automated alerts initiated by connected smoke sensors, eHealth applications and intelligent building management systems, after the early detection and identification of anomalies that pre-configure an emergency situation.
The case studies created for the AIMES project are now instrumental to allow EDGE and the AIMES partners’ teams to proceed with the identification of the user and system requirements that will support the development of the different components of the AIMES System and their validation in demonstration events to be conducted in Spain, Sweden and Portugal.
