EDGE's new eCare Ambient Assisted Living Platform, which integrates data from multiple sources of information to create and promote healthier lifestyles and improved quality of life, has captured the attention of the Hospital do Espírito Santo de Évora with respect to the use of new technologies and innovations to improve health and care delivery.
The strategic collaboration between EDGE and the Évora Hospital addresses the digitalisation of healthcare systems and the promotion of connected care and aims to develop innovative approaches to improve not only the quality and effectiveness of healthcare management, but also the experience of patients and healthcare professionals. The partnership allows the Évora Hospital to benefit from EDGE's specialised know-how and experience to assist in advancing the Hospital's cinical processes and methods towards new business models that are based on technological innovation, contributing thus to advance the services offered by the Évora Hospital, particularly the hospitalisation at home and the remote monitoring of chronic patients. These services represent an added value to the Évora Hospital's healthcare delivery, as it services a population of 300 thousand inhabitants, mostly an elderly community experiencing multiple chronic conditions.
EDGE trusts that the partnership with the Évora Hospital enables the development of joint projects capable of addressing and solving the specific needs and requirements of the Hospital's specialised care units, as they aim to provide high-quality healthcare services. EDGE's know-how in the design and development of the eCare Platform is therefore a key aspect of EDGE's partnership with the Évora Hospital, ambitioning to contribute to higher levels of clinical and financial performance by the Hospital, richer experiences for the Hospital's professional staff and better safety and quality of life for all Hospital patients.
