EDGE, in close relationship with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust (NHSCT), presented an electronic poster at the 1st North American Conference on Integrated Care 2021, which was held online between the 4th and 7th October.
The conference theme was ‘Co-designing for health and wellbeing with individuals and communities’, and brought together leaders, researchers, clinicians, managers, citizens, patients and caregivers from around the world to design a new way to deliver integrated health and social care.
Inspired by the work that EDGE has been developing with NHSCT as part of the SHAPES Project, the poster described the activities being undertaken in Pilot Theme 3 – Medicine Optimisation and Control, as part of Phase 2 of the SHAPES Pan-European Pilot Campaign, wherein users were able to interact for the first time with the eCare Platform and provide feedback on its design for optimising their use of medicine and achieving the project’s objectives. Involving the users in the co-design and co-implementation of the eCare Platform from an early stage, revealed itself to be a key mechanism to create a digital solutions capable of meeting the users’ requirements, needs and expectations, improving the App’s usability and facilitating the users’ acceptance and adoption of new technologies.
