EDGE joined with the thousands of participants that assisted to the eHealth Summit Portugal, on June 1st and 2nd of 2021, dedicated to the promotion of innovation and digital transformation in Health, with a special focus on digitalisation in pandemic times.
In this event edition, organised almost exclusively in online format, more than 50 thematic sessions addressed the digital transition in Health, involving key spokespersons from different institutions and public organisations. For example, the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union Council presented the main action lines that aim to improve the quality in healthcare for all citizens and to reduce the inequality of access.
Throughout two days, the sessions revealed the paths already paved and those still in construction by European and national authorities and the healthcare organisation, in order to make a reality of digital democracy in Health. The debates were highly rich and dynamic, underlying the high number of initiatives developed during the last year to improve quality in delivering healthcare in Europe.
