eSafer

eSafer is EDGE's new decision support system specifically designed to assist the medical emergency teams to manage the incidents reported by citizens.
Accompanying the dispatch of medical responders, the monitoring of the response effort and the communication of information with the medical teams on the field, eSafer allows the visualisation of the different emergencies in a georeferenced context, clearly identified by type, severity and state (open, closed, waiting and dispatched). The capability to link to each emergency the multimedia data sent by citizens (photos, video, texts) significantly improves the medical professionals' level of situational awareness and understanding, allowing them to adequately adjust their response effort concerning human and material resources. The understanding of the emergency is further reinforced with the addition of a trust factor to each emergency, associated to the credibility assigned to the related information source (verified or non-verified).
As eSafer supports the triage, the priority level, the assignment of resources and accountability, the system facilitates the gathering and sharing of critical information associated to each emergency, deemed fundamental to offer a fast and adequate medical response.
