SPHINX Is Given a Green Light by the European Commission

The contract for the European project SPHINX has been signed between the European Commission and the seventeen SPHINX partners, announcing an investment of more than 5 million euro for the research and development of an innovative cybersecurity solution exclusively designed for the Health sector.
Answering to the Horizon 2020 programme topic SU-TDS-02-2018 – Tools to assess and reduce cybersecurity risks in hospitals and healthcare centres for the protection of privacy/data/infrastructures, the European project SPHINX aims to implement a set of universal cybersecurity solutions for the health industry that is capable of guaranteeing the protection of the information ecosystems of healthcare units and also the safeguard of the privacy and integrity of patients data. SPHINX cybersecurity solutions will be validated in field demonstrations occurring in Romania, Greece and Portugal.
The SPHINX consortium comprises 17 organisations from 9 European countries, coordinated by the National Technical University of Athens and including as Portuguese partners EDGENEERING (EDGE), the Hospital do Espirito Santo de Évora, PDMFC and the Imprensa Nacional – Casa Da Moeda. Other consortium entities are Future Intelligence, Konnektable Technologies, Vilabs, Siveco, Aideas, the Hellenic Mediterranean University, Tech Inspire, the Vrije University of Brussels, TECNALIA, Intracom, the Polaris Clinic and the 5th Regional Health Authority of Central Greece.
The SPHINX consortium presents a strong collective displaying multidisciplinary and complementary skills and a solid experience and competence in the development of research and innovation projects, which ensures that relevant contributions will be implemented to promote cybersecurity in the Health sector.
