EDGE Participates in the CYBERSEC4HEALTH Workshop
July 2019

EDGE has participated in the first Workshop organised by the European project SPHINX – Universal Cybersecurity Tools for the Healthcare Industry, that took place on July 10th to 12th at the Vrije University Brussels facilities.
Under the theme “To Build Awareness to the Cybsersecurity Landscape for Health Organisations (CYBERSEC4HEALTH)”, the Workshop welcomed the presence of representatives of the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) that presented the work being developed by the Agency with respect to the implementation of the NIS Directive and the Cybersecurity Law, which created a mechanism for an European cybersecurity certification system for specific information and communication technology processes, products and services. The CYBERSEC4HEALTH Workshop was also followed by the partners of several European projects addressing cybersecurity issues, who shared the latest developments attained by their respective projects and consortia.
Before an audience of cybersecurity experts and IT professionals working in healthcare organisations, EDGE presented the initial results of the SPHINX Project concerning the identification of the cybersecurity challenges associated with the digital transformation of the Healthcare sector. Five application scenarios for the SPHINX System were exposed, considering the digital processes in the health sector, the electronic health services, the mobile health services and the sharing of health data between health organisations and in cross-boder environments. These scenarios have gained life through EDGE's vivid description of two use cases, selected from a set of more than twenty use cases identified by the SPHINX partners to guide the pilots to be implemented in Portugal, Greece and Romania in 2021.
