AIMES Final Pilot

The AIMES Pilot in Portugal was the golden key to mark the end of the AIMES EUROSTARS Project. Involving the three AIMES partners, the Final Pilot was successfully conducted on 17th December 2021, organised by EDGE and hosted by the Hospital do Espirito Santo de Evora (HESE), at the city of Évora, Portugal. As an end-user, HESE was the right choice for hosting the AIMES Final Pilot and Workshop for they adopted EDGE’s eCare solution, which was a core component of the demonstration.
The Pilot in Portugal enabled the demonstration of a broad set of advanced capabilities for emergency services: the Emergency App for Citizens, presenting total conversation features (video and chat) and automatic language translation; the roaming of Emergency Apps, using the PEMEA network to deliver improved caller location and the sharing of additional emergency-related information sharing; Automated Alerts in Emergency Apps, allowing IoT-enabled eHealth Apps to generate automated alerts in case of emergency and relay relevant medical information to the emergency services; and the App for First Responders, bringing the First Responders into the emergency response communication and information loop, with enhanced situational awareness and better resource management.
Overall, the focus of the AIMES Final Pilot was to demonstrate important PEMEA capabilities, including roaming, multimedia calls, file exchange and automatic translation, and the latest features developed in the AIMES Project related with IoT-enabled automated emergency calls and incident dispatching.
Importantly, the AIMES Pilot in Portugal showcased a fully integrated end-to-end solution, involving modules developed by EDGE, Omnitor and Deveryware, who joined the Pilot from the 112 emergency centre of Extremadura in Spain.
