EDGE Contributes for the Success of SPHINX in the First Project Technical Assessment Meeting
October 2019

EDGE is the leader of different technical activities developed by the SPHINX Consortium in the past ten months, involving the SPHINX concept, use cases and system architecture. Under EDGE aegis, the work carried out, involving the development of requirements, the identification of technical specifications and the design of the architecture, was assessed in the first technical meeting between the SPHINX Consortium and the European Commission that took place on October 25th at Intracom facilities, in Athens, Greece.
In the presence of the Commission's Project Officer and three independent evaluators, the meeting allowed for the SPHINX partners to make a detailed presentation of the work performed in the different project areas, with a special emphasis in the technical activities coordinated by EDGE. The ethical and user requirements for the SPHINX Platform were presented, as well as a set of use cases that illustrate the users' needs with respect to the SPHINX performance. Moreover, it was described the preliminary architecture for the SPHINX Platform and the different technical specifications that shall guide the future project tasks associated with the implementation of the SPHINX Platform's components.
The work of the SPHINX Consortium was positively assessed, having been noted the complete fulfilment of the objectives and goals proposed for the first ten months of the project, namely involving the submission of the deliverables that were deemed of adequate quality. The project's preliminary results were unanimously perceived as interesting and the evaluators panel highlighted the level of professionalism of all SPHINX partners, both considering the given presentations and the ensuing joint discussion about the project's different technical elements.
